Wartime Nickels
From 1942 to 1945 The United States was saving nickel for Bullets for World War II. During these years The U.S. Mint added 35% Silver to conserve enough nickel for us to have the bullets to defeat the enemy. These Nickels are easy to spot by large Mint Mark above the Monticello on the reverse of the coins. Wartime Nickels are sought after to many coin collectors.
